Google Search - Set up Google Search Console and index your domain

What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console is a powerful tool provided by Google that will help you monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results. It offers valuable insights into your site's traffic, performance and issues, enabling you to optimize your website for better search visibility and get found on Google.

Key benefits

Engaging with Google Search Console enhances site visibility and search performance, with one key benefit of enabling sitemap submissions to ensure Google effectively indexes your site.

How it works

Optional: Verify your site using the HTML tag method

  1. Acquire the verification tag

    Obtain the "HTML tag" from Google Search Console for site verification. This is a short script which will be added in your site, and looks like this:

    <meta name="google-site-verification" content="{{CONTENT}}" />

    The value {{CONTENT}} is what is important.

  2. Insert the tag in Sharefox

    Go to Sharefox Admin ➝ Settings Integrations Marketing, insert ONLY the {{CONTENT}} value in the "HTML tag content" input and click "Publish".

  3. Domain verification

    Return to Google Search Console to finalise the verification steps.

Optional: Verify your site using the Domain method

You will see a popup that will ask you to write a DNS record in your Domain Provider system. Copy this value, add it to your Domain Provider system record and after that click 'Verify' in this popup. If you are having trouble adding it, contact your Domain Provider.
