How do I upload a custom file?
This article illustrates how to upload a custom file and use it on the webpage. This custom file can be a picture for a product. You can upload it in Jpeg, png, PDF, and other image formats. The Branding Files Article also illustrates some of these steps.
- In the admin panel go to Settings > Files.
- Locate custom files below branding files. This allows you to upload your own files to be used for example as product pictures or blog pages.
In there below Branding Files, you have Custom Files, which allow you to upload your own files to be used on the product, or blog pages (pdf, images, or other files). You can use search for this type of file too.
For Custom Files you can perform these actions: Add, Edit, View, Delete and Copy Link. The file types supported for Custom Files are jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, and JSON.
- In order to add a new file, you can click on Add button and then you will see a new row where you can fill the File Name and upload a file.
- After filling the Name and choosing the file you can click Confirm Icon in order to proceed with file upload or Cancel Icon in order to stop. If you click Confirm you will see a popup message where you can see if the upload is made successfully or not, and if not, the reason why.
- You can also Edit an existing file and change the Name or the file. The process is the same as with Add New.
- For image files, if you want to adjust an image, you can click on View Icon. From there you can see a preview of your file, download the file locally and also readjust your image. (See Branding for more info)
- Also, you can choose to Delete a file. By clicking Delete you will see a popup asking you to confirm the action you are about to do. After clicking confirm the file will be deleted from the server. It is better to take a backup before deleting the file as there is no option to restore the deleted file from the server.
