Product package or product with addons?
Sometimes you want to offer several products together. There are two ways to do this in Sharefox:
- A product package
- A product with addons
The right choice depends on what you're trying to achieve.
Product package
Think of a product package as creating a new product (a container) and filling it with other products.
The package itself is the container filled with the products customers rent.
Good for
- Premade kits and bundles
- When you want to be able to swap out any product at any time
- When the customer should rent all the products together
Choose a product package if you want to create a brand-new product that contains several other products.
Examples:
A bundle with skis, poles, helmet, goggles and shoes
A bundle with a tent, a primus, a table, 2 sleeping mats, 2 sleeping bags and 2 chairs
Product with addons
An addon, or included product, is another product included with your main product. You're taking an existing product and tacking more products onto it.
The customer still rents the original product — but with extras.
Good for
- A main product with mandatory or optional addons
- When you want the customer to pick and choose between addons
Choose a product with addons if you have products that naturally belong with the main product.
Examples:
A car with mandatory insurance and optional driving distance
A bike with optional saddlebags and trailer
