What is a change order?
A change order is a record of any modification made to an order after it has been created.
📄 Original order = original invoice
📝 Change order = correction
Change orders are created automatically when you adjust an existing order in the admin interface.
Orders in Sharefox are locked after a short period of time to ensure that the original booking and payment history cannot be altered. If something needs to be adjusted later, the system creates a change order instead of editing the original order.
The original order remains unchanged. The change order is added on top of it.
Change orders can be used to:
- add additional charges
- issue refunds
- modify bookings
- adjust deposits or payments
Each change order is saved in the order history so you can see exactly what was changed.
Example
An order is created for 1000 NOK.
Later the booking is extended and 200 NOK is added.
Instead of changing the original order, Sharefox creates a change order:
Original order: 1000 NOK Change order: +200 NOK Total order value: 1200 NOK
This ensures the system keeps a complete record of all adjustments made to the order.
