Weekly Buffer Extension

Use this setting to automatically extend buffer times (Lead or Lag) according to a weekly schedule. This is ideal for avoiding maintenance, cleaning, or preparation tasks during days when staff is unavailable (e.g. weekends).

Note: The base buffer times (Lead / Lag) still apply. If a rental overlaps the “buffer extension interval,” the buffer will be lengthened accordingly.


How it works

  1. You define a buffer extension window, e.g. from Friday 17:00 to Monday 07:00 (in Admin → Settings → Channels → Location)

    (You can choose any start day / time and end day / time in the week)


  2. When checking availability or after a rental order is placed, the system will compute:
    • The standard lead buffer (before pickup) and lag buffer (after return)
    • If either of those buffers intersects the defined weekly extension window, the buffer will be stretched to cover for the “unavailable period.”

Example:

  • Base Lag Time buffer (after rental return) = 2h
  • Rental ends Friday at 21:00
  • Weekly extension defined: Friday 17:00 → Monday 07:00
  • The 2h lag overlaps fully with the extension window, so the buffer is extended until Monday 09:00

The adjusted buffer will as usual:

  • Impact availability to customers (preventing bookings that conflict)
  • Be fully visible in Admin Schedule

If a booking does not intersect the weekly extension period, the base buffer will apply.
